India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)
A multinational railway and sea ports corridor linking the Middle East and South Asia was announced on September 9 on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi. The “India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)” has generated international interest as a new transport corridor that would involve neither China nor Russia.
Signatories to a Memorandum of Understanding are Saudi Arabia, the European Union, India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), France, Germany, Italy and the USA.
